Sailor Venus and the Holy Moon Sword

This painting began as a stick figure sketch in a notebook. A few weeks later I had an extra chunk of large watercolor paper and a desire to paint something, and I found a little stick figure sketch that I thought might be fun to draw.

And oh how fun it was.

It took three full days of painting, adding and removing masking fluid, adding too much glitter, and colored pencil and ink detailing. And then it was done.

And so, after much painting, we have the lovely Sailor Venus holding the Holy Moon Sword with Artemis at her feet and a large orange Crescent Moon in the background.

...darn, and now I want to make paintings of all the Senshi like this. *puts on list for later painting*
